Tennis Tournament Brings
Jester Books & Dolls to
Harbor-UCLA Pediatric Patients

Heidi Grimm, founder and chair of the Jester Benefit Doubles Tennis Tournament in Redondo Beach, happily gives Jester books and dolls from tournament proceeds to young patients at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance. Deeply engrossed in his gift copy of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle is 1-year-old DaKari. One hundred Jester books and 100 Jester & Pharley Dolls were donated from the proceeds of the third annual Doubles Jester Benefit Tennis Tournament.

Smiles were the order of the day at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center when The Jester & Pharley Phund donated 100 copies if the bilingual edition of David Saltzman's The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 100 Jester & Pharley Dolls to young patients.

The donation resulted from preceeds of the recent Third Annual Jester Benefit Doubles Tennis Tournament. Event Chair Heidi Grimm and Co-Chair Deborah Ford handed out the books and dolls to happy children in attendance. Executive Director Barbara Saltzman read the book to the children who giggled and chuckled with The Jester & Pharley as they seached for laughter in the story.

"Our patients just love The Jester story and The Jester & Pharley Doll," said Melissa Hebron-Abo, Director of Child Life Services at Harbor-UCLA. Added Dr. Julie Noble, Coordinator of Harbor-UCLA's Community Advocacy program. "It's always a pleasure to give Jester books and dolls to our patients, as they benefit so much from its optimism and joy."
