Reading Makes A Difference™
(Anne) Darling Elementary School
San Jose, CA
2009
During the month long read-a-thon students from Darling Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 218,497 pages! The school, along with Comcast, was able to donate 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to Family Supportive Housing, a San Jose non-profit organization. Family Supportive Housing provides shelter and supportive services to empower homeless families in Santa Clara County to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
