Smile Cart Open

While we wait for tomorrow’s cures, it is The Jester & Pharley Phund that gives today’s children hope and laughter as they battle cancer and other serious illness. The mobile humor cart helps provide diversion from pain while giving young patients emotional support with Jester & Pharley books and dolls. Your $10,000 contribution will fund a complete cart equipped with a TV, a DVD player, and a Radio/CD unit.

Also included with the cart are Jester books, Jester & Pharley Dolls, Bookmarks and Jester & Pharley PhunBooks. Donors are acknowledged for their generosity with a permanent plaque on the Smile Cart.

Patients at more than 35 hospitals and special-needs facilities across the country benefit daily from The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart.

Yale Smile Cart Ellen Good with Barbara

"The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart brings much enjoyment and pleasure to our children and families who spend time in the hospital. The Jester & Pharley have been much loved figures in our institution for some time now. The addition of the Smile Cart will ensure that many more children will be touched by the wonderful message which Jester & Pharley share ‒ the message of hope, humor and love."

Ellen Good, Child Life Manager, Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, New Haven, CT

"Your project to bring humor and laughter to children, utilizing David Saltzman's message from The Jester Has Lost His Jingle can have a profoundly helpful impact on children facing medical crises and other stressful life circumstances."

Sean Phipps, Ph.D., St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN

"The beauty of the doll is that it has a dual purpose. Not only do the bells help children remember to stay still during procedures, The Jester & Pharley Doll also reminds them of the importance of laughter and love."
