During the three week read-a-thon students from Buford Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 765,042 pages! The school, along with The Kiwanis Club of Rolling Hills Estates was able to donate 105 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for use with their young patients.
2009
During the six week read-a-thon, 164 students from Buford Elementary kept journals to document their reading. Altogether, they read 88,223 pages. The school, along with the Weingart Foundation, was able to donate 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to the pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
2006
During the month long read-a-thon students from Buford Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 1,087,012 pages!! The school, along with the S. Mark Taper Foundation, was able to donate 30 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 30 Jester & Pharley Dolls to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for use with their pediatric patients.
