During the three week read-a-thon students from Carver Elementary School in Los Angeles kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 88,178 pages! The school, along with the S. Mark Taper Foundation, was able to donate 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to El Nido Family Centers in Compton, CA, for use with the children and families who benefit from their services.

Fall 2014

During their third, three week read-a-thon, students from Carver Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 114,770 pages. The school, along with the Opus Community Foundation and the Cicoria Family Foundation, was able to donate 34 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia and 34 Jester & Pharley Dolls to Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA, for use with their young patients.
