During the three week read-a-thon students from Baden-Powell Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 309,442 pages. The school, along with the Angels Foundation and the Opus Community Foundation, donated 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA, for use with their young patients.

During the three week read-a-thon students from Baden-Powell Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 322,513 pages. On March 1st, 2013 in conjunction with Read Across America celebrations, Baden-Powell, along with their sponsors, donated 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA, for use with their pediatric patients. To add to the excitement, the teachers dressed for the day as their favorite storybook characters.
