During the three week read-a-thon, 370 students from Van Deene Avenue Elementary kept journals to document their reading. Altogether, they read 46,319 pages. The school, along with Friends of The Jester & Pharley Phund, was able to donate 30 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 30 Jester & Pharley Dolls to the pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
