During the three week Read-A-Thon students from Meyler Street Elementary School kept journals to document their reading. Altogether they read 70,919 pages. The school, along with the Doreen D. Fund for Youth, was able to donate 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for use with their young patients.
2009
During the three week Read-a-Thon, 413 students from Willmore Elementary, in Westminster CA, kept journals to document their reading. Altogether, they read 272,326 pages. The school, along with The Joseph Drown Foundation, was able to donate 35 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 35 Jester & Pharley Dolls to the pediatric patients at Huntington Beach Hospital in Huntington Beach, CA.
