The Farmers & Merchants Bank Foundation and F&M Bank branch offices in Redondo Beach and Rolling Hills Estates joined hands to support The Jester & Pharley Phund’s project to reprint the bilingual English/Spanish edition of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle/El Bufón ha perdido su gracia children’s book.
David Saltzman’s N.Y. Times best-seller is the centerpiece of The Jester & Pharley Phund charity’s donations to children with cancer and in support of literacy. F&M Bank’s donation will help replenish the bilingual edition depleted by hospital requests for numerous copies for their patients during the pandemic.
“We are proud to support the efforts of The Jester & Pharley Phund,” said F&M Bank President W. Henry Walker. “The smiles they bring to the thousands of children coping with serious illnesses through their literacy programs are invaluable.”
Joining Farmers & Merchants Foundation Director Tiffany Roberts in presenting the contribution in the Redondo Beach branch were Branch Manager Faisal Hashmi and Rolling Hills Estates Branch Manager Roy Almeida. Phund representatives included President Barbara Saltzman and Executive Director Amy Hastings.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Farmers & Merchants Bank, which is such a community-minded organization, to bring the joy of my late son’s book to so many more children who need to find laughter during these difficult days,” said Saltzman, a longtime Palos Verdes Peninsula resident.
